i saw fela at dc’s shakespeare theatre company last night. by far the best show i’ve ever seen. shame that this was the first african-set play i’ve seen by a professional theatre company, but its about damn time i did. perhaps for that reason everything about it gripped my attention for three hours straight. explosive color, energy, pulse– please go see it if you haven’t already. “ya ya”
